LARC is a private, not-for-profit, community-service organization dedicated to providing individuals with developmental disabilities opportunities to work, live, and participate in their community. Originally formed in 1956, as a school for children with special needs (The Lansing School of Special Education), LARC has grown to provide day training, work activities, and senior programming to approximately 100 individuals from across the Chicagoland Area. Additional services include service facilitation, services & supports in the community, choice-driven classroom & recreational activities, job training & placement, and community-integrated living arrangements for 44 individuals in single-family group homes throughout the community.
In order to continue to provide the highest quality of care to those we serve, we look to the generosity of our supporters.
Donations can come in many different forms.
Volunteers are always welcome and needed at many of our events and at our facility.

Fundraisers and events help us raise community awareness and generate funding in support of our cause.

LARC will provide person-centered supports and services that promote quality, dignity, and choice, and will assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve a greater independence in their lives by promoting choice, fostering a sense of pride, and empowering them to achieve their dreams.
