  • PART-TIME & FULL-TIME: Full-time and part-time positions are currently available.  However, most positions are part-time.

  • FLEXIBLE HOURS:  Hours may vary based on your availability and the needs of the individuals receiving support. Most of our shifts are evenings and weekends.  There are also overnight shifts in our group homes.  Occasionally, daytime shifts and full-time work becomes available.

  • WORK IN INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SETTINGS: You will be offered assignments based on your skills and interests, and the needs of participants.  Many of our group settings are smaller, with a lower client-to-staff ratio.

  • PAID ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: LARC provides paid on-the-job training in CPR, First Aid, plus a state-approved curriculum for Direct Support Professionals including two weeks of classroom training and 80 hours of on-the-job training and coaching. LARC is committed to the development of its employees through ongoing training, support systems, and coaching.

  • CDS DIRECTOR (FT):

This position requires a comprehensive understanding and background to develop and implement person-centered strategies leading toward a self-directed life for the individuals served by LARC. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading the community day program staff as the organization moves toward a community-integrated/person-centered program approach. This position requires that a collaborative effort be made with all staff to ensure that the supports and services provided to individuals are of the highest quality and a genuine sense of teamwork is evident in the provision of services.

  • RESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR (FT):

LARC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic leader to provide administrative oversight of the CILA program (residential/group home operations) for individuals who are intellectually and/or developmentally disabled. Successful candidates will provide visionary leadership, overall quality assurance, and clinical expertise to achieve the vision and goals for the agency to maximize the programs’ person-centered approach to service delivery.  The Residential Director is responsible for the overall operation of assigned CILA homes and associated support services in the homes. Additional responsibilities include supervision and guidance to the Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals (QIDPs), the Residential Supervisors, and the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).  The Residential Director will establish and coordinate a program that provides opportunities and experiences in the community for those it serves. The Director will ensure that these services, as directed by LARC’s mission and vision, will encourage and facilitate a variety of community activities for individuals served, and assist them in achieving personal goals related to where and how they live. The Residential Director will provide opportunities for individuals to learn and experience their rights, as well as the rights of others, and the responsibilities that are associated with those rights.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the RN provides services for Residential clients by establishing and maintaining medication safety and maintaining medication safety, training, delegating and monitoring the effective execution of medical administration tasks. Performs applicable tasks of a Nurse-Trainer for a non-licensed staff training program.

LARC has a full-time Home-Based Support Services QIDP/SDA position open at LARC in Lansing, Illinois. The position requires day-time availability but must be flexible to meet the needs of the individuals, which may sometimes include evening and weekend hours. The candidate must provide supports and services to the individuals that LARC serves with a person-centered approach.

  • DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (Day Programs) (FT):

 

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to assist in maximizing the person's strengths, interests, and abilities. DSPs provide support and supervision in a group setting that includes daily living supports, community activities, and enrichment activities with a person-centered approach.  The Community Day Service program is actively seeking people-oriented, energetic candidates to join our team. Full-time openings and various shifts are available.

  • DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (Residential Programs) (FT & PT):

 

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to assist in maximizing the person’s strengths, interests, and abilities. DSPs provide support and supervision in a group setting that includes daily living supports and community activities with a person-centered approach.  LARC’s Residential Program is actively seeking people-oriented, energetic candidates to join our team. Full-time and Part-time positions are available; shifts are primarily afternoons, midnights, and weekends. LARC strives to provide employees with a schedule that will promote work-life balance.

  • CUSTODIAL SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (FT):

 

The Supported Employment program at LARC has a full-time opening for a CSP in Lansing, Illinois. The CSP will assist individuals with disabilities in maintaining employment in the community in integrated settings. The incumbent will work with individuals who have barriers to employment to identify needed workplace supports based upon individual preferences, skills, and job duties. S/he will be responsible for developing relationships with employers in order to support the successful transition of job seekers into employment; will provide ongoing supports, as needed, to facilitate employment retentions; and will provide case management and service coordination, as needed, to facilitate access to and the coordination of services necessary for successful employment outcomes. This position requires the CSP to have the ability to work in a variety of weather and be available to work during the day on weekdays, with some occasional work to be performed on weekends and evenings.
